Bhakti Yoga, India's Path of Devotion to God

From Rama to Krishna to Ramakrishna, covering many millennia of India's rich religious, philosophical, and spiritual history, the presence of love — involving hands-on ritualism, rapt contemplation, and meditation with form and beyond form — has always held great importance. Even more than being just one of the four main yogas in the Eternal Motherland, bhakti is "....the oil that keeps the machine and all its parts running smoothly," according to Sri Ramakrishna. That is, the body, prana, mind, intellect, and the soul of mankind all depend upon bhakti for their balance and progressive continuation. In this class series, aspects of matured teachings on devotion from several of India's darshanas and lineages will be taken up for "loving" inspection.
