It is a place of retreat and solitude between visits to the mainland centers, where he corresponds with students, writes and prepares classes. Each week, while on the islands, he gives a class on India's Eternal Wisdom at various locations on the Big Island, occasionally followed by arati and satsang. Vedanta is the accumulated wisdom of India's countless illumined sages, called Rishis (seers of the Word), preserved in the Upanishads at the end of the Vedas. This treasure trove of revealed Truth culminates in the revelation of the Soul's absolute identity with God, expressed in statements such as: Tat twam asi. Sarvam kalvidam Brahman! That thou art; All this indeed is Brahman!
