American River Retreat July 11 - July 18, 2008 Retreat starts noon, July 11 and ends noon of July 18
SRV Associations’ annual summer retreat in Northern California is developing into a
marvelous multi-generational experience in the transmission of Vedanta's liberating
message while living together as one extended holy family. Last year we had children,
teens, young adults and upwards. Everyone was deeply affected by the richness and
potential of the teachings in this auspicious mix of ages, se t in the beauty, peace, and
seclusion of nature. Babaji's ability to transmit these teachings to individuals at any age
and stage of development, and simultaneously to the benefit of the entire group, is
certainly one of the highlights of SRV sangha life. Acceding to the wishes of many, we
have increased the length of this retreat to 7 days.

Our annual Autumn retreat in Seattle will consist of three blissful, elevated days immersed in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the father of true Yoga. This is the Yoga of Meditation and science that unlocks the mysteries of the mind -- the gross and subtle obstacles it poses for Self-Realization, and the power, purity, and peace that is the inherent nature of mind rendered pure via concentration, meditation and samadhi.
Babaji deftly weaves the commentaries of renowned Seers like Vedavyas and Swami Vivekananda with his own experience in guiding westerners to make the sutras and the prescribed practices and their results understandable. This is the most subtle art -- concentration of mind and all that leads to it -- and it is essential for inner peace.
