Raja Yoga Retreat in Seattle <> October 11 - 13, 2008

Arrive on Friday, October 10 in the evening.
Our annual Autumn retreat in Seattle will consist of three blissful, elevated days immersed in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the father of true Yoga. This is the Yoga of Meditation and science that unlocks the mysteries of the mind -- the gross and subtle obstacles it poses for Self-Realization, and the power, purity, and peace that is the inherent nature of mind rendered pure via concentration, meditation and samadhi.

Babaji deftly weaves the commentaries of renowned Seers like Vedavyas and Swami Vivekananda with his own experience in guiding westerners to make the sutras and the prescribed practices and their results understandable. This is the most subtle art -- concentration of mind and all that leads to it -- and it is essential for inner peace.

This mini-retreat features morning meditation, morning and afternoon classes, evening worship, satsang, and meditation.
Accomodations: At a location overlooking the Seattle skyline and Puget Sound. Meals are vegetarian.

Tuition, all inclusive:

  • $250
  • Student / fixed income: $125; Sliding scale on request
  • Reservation with deposit due by September 20. Balance due by October 3.
  • Non refundable deposit of $75 for cancellations after October 3.

January 1, 2008
Cossipore, Kolkata, India: Kalpataru Day

It was at the Cossipore Garden House that Sri Ramakrishna, in an ecstatic mood, showered his divine grace on the householder devotees and blessed them, saying, “Chaitanya Ho! May your consciousness be illumined!” Since that day, January 1, 1886, he has been celebrated as the Kalpataru, the Wish-fulfilling Tree. And it is also at this sacred site, that the Master spent the last days of his life and then entered into Mahasamadhi.

Babaji has been invited and is scheduled to present devotional songs in the morning of this auspicious day of the Kalpataru Day Celebration at Cossipore Garden.

India Pilgrimage

Belur

Babaji Bob Kindler has been leading pilgrimages to India since 1992. These profound journeys are centered on the holy sites associated with the lives of Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, and the entire Ramakrishna lineage and Order. Additionally, visits are often made to ancient holy places like the Source of the Ganges, Vrindavan, and Hrishikesh.

Special experiences include meeting with the revered swamis of the Ramakrishna Order at various centers, visits to and/or meditation and worship in sacred temples such as the Dakshineswar Kali Temple and Sri Ramakrishna’s temple at Belur Math, and the inspiring classes given regularly by Babaji throughout the tour. Many pilgrimages include an overnight visit to Jayrambati, the birthplace of Holy Mother, Sri Sarada Devi, a heavenly realm all unto itself, where Mother’s quiet, deep, and all-loving Presence permeates the atmosphere.
